Salish Sea Map

Blue Coral Projects works to raise awareness about marine ecosystems through education and discovery. To help make this come about, Blue Coral projects is launching the Salish Sea project.

Next summer, Blue Coral’s sailing vessel Aerial Sea (40ft Catamaran) will depart Vancouver on a 12 week voyage into the waters of the Salish Sea that will to bring together scientists, educators and local environmental groups to engage with the people of the region and learn about the important social and environmental issues that the region faces as well as the technological and behavioural opportunities that we can take up to help preserve the region.

During its 12 week voyage, Aerial Sea and her crew will visit cities and towns bordering the Salish Sea from Vancouver to Victoria and encourage the public to learn more about ocean environmental issues - both global and specific to the waters of the Salish Sea.

The mission of the Salish Sea project is to build awareness about environmental issues related to climate change, and the health of the Salish Sea and to demonstrate renewable energy technologies as an important part of reducing our carbon footprint.

Any individuals, agencies or organizations who are interested to partner with our team to make the voyage a reality or help organize our port visits, please contact Simon Fawkes at sfawkes@bluecoral.ca or call: 604-725-0600.
